01 Career
Career narrative
Julio Ramirez is an infrastructure engineer whose work has moved from frontline technical support into systems administration, IT operations, and network engineering. He began supporting clinical and enterprise environments at Confluence Health and Chelan County PUD — automating user provisioning and building self-service tooling that reduced routine support load — then stepped into senior systems administration and IT operations leadership at Columbia Valley Community Health.
At Grant County PUD he moved from network administration into operational-technology network engineering — supporting SCADA communications and critical utility operations — and today works as an Enterprise Infrastructure Engineer, building and operating the systems that keep the utility running. His focus is making complex systems easier to understand, operate, and improve — through automation, observability, and pragmatic modernization — while keeping reliability and security at the center.

04 Beyond work
Beyond work
Away from work, Julio runs a homelab — a rack-mounted virtualization and storage stack he uses to learn infrastructure hands-on, self-hosting his own tools and experiments. He supports his church and community with networking, live-production, and systems help, and studies continuously toward Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud certifications. He also works in photography and video.
